Breweries, if you’re going to use social media… at least make it work.

Most brewery social media falls into one of two categories:

• a photo of a beer
• a photo of a mash tun or another bit of kit

And that’s about it. Now look… I get it.

You’re proud of the product. You should be.

But …

No one cares enough to engage with that.

Unless they already love you.

And if they already love you… you don’t need to convince them…. duh!

Stop posting. Start prompting…

If you’re going to post an image of your beer, fine.

But give people a reason to actually respond to it.

Try this:

• Hide something in the image • Ask a question • Set a challenge • Get people to guess something

Because the goal is to get people interacting with your post.

Why?

Because when people comment, reply, and get involved…

The algorithm goes:

“Ah… people care about this.”

And shows it to more people.

A static image with no engagement?

That just floats past someone’s eyeballs and disappears into the abyss.

Likes mean nothing.

A like could come from:

• someone who’ll never buy your beer • someone halfway across the world • someone double tapping without thinking

It’s a vanity metric.

What you actually want is:

engagement.

Comments. Replies. Shares.

That’s where awareness grows.

Do more than just your beer.

Here’s somthing to get your brain ticking, consider this…

Ssocial media is a volume and collaboration game.

The more people involved in a post…
The more reach you get.

It’s simple maths.

A few easy wins:

1. Collaborate with venues

“Top 5 places to drink our beer within 15 minutes of the station”
Tag the venues and station
They share it.
You access their audience.

2. Work with other breweries

“3 breweries you need to try in [your town]”

You’re not competing here.
You’re expanding reach together.

3. Bring in other industries

Chefs.
Tourist spots.
Local businesses.

Now your post isn’t just about beer.

It’s about experience.

And more importantly…More people are involved.

The simple shift

Stop thinking:

“What can we post about our beer?”

Start thinking:

“Who can we involve in this post?”

Because the more people tagged, sharing, and engaging…

The more your brand gets seen.
