Your breweries social media isn’t broken… your intent is
The problem with your social media isn’t the content.
It’s the intent behind it.
The more brewery social channels I look at, the more obvious this becomes. A lot of posts are going out simply because they have to go out.
Posting for posting’s sake.
Hamster on a wheel.
Treadmill vibes.
I get it... heck i’ve been there! Social media can feel like a box that needs ticking.
But, just throwing up a picture of a beer isn’t doing anything for you.
At best, it gets a couple of likes from the hardcore beer nerds who already love you. At worst, it disappears into the void and communicates absolutely nothing new.
Your audience already knows:
You’re a brewery.
You make beer.
Congratulations!
That alone isn’t a reason to stop scrolling.
What does move the needle is intent.
Taking the time to think about:
• Why are we posting this?
• What reaction do we want?
• What conversation could this start?
• Is there something here people can relate to, disagree with, or add to?
Content that asks a question.
Content that invites an opinion.
Content that sparks debate, nostalgia, humour, frustration, joy.
That’s the stuff people stop for.
Do you know whats even better?? You’re gunna love this…
It’s far more valuable to post less, with purpose, than to post every day with none.
So consider this your gentle Friday nudge.
Take your foot off the gas a little.
Step back from the “we must post today” mindset.
Spend that time thinking about what your audience might actually want to engage with.
Because engagement is the metric that matters.
Not volume.
Not frequency.
Not endless photos of beer cans on a pallet.
Right.
Public service announcement over.
