If It Ain’t Broke... You’re Probably Not Trying Hard Enough

You know that old saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” ??
Well, when it comes to brewery branding, design, and marketing… that’s absolute bull excrement.

It might not be broken, sure.
But it’s definitely not the best it could be.

What I’ve started to realise lately is that too many breweries seem happy to hit an “acceptable level.”

You know what I mean, a logo that looks fine, a website that sort of works, packaging that feels okay.
Once that bar’s been reached, it’s ticked off as “done.”

But my thoughts are: that bar is way too low.

The industry doesn’t need another brewery that looks, sounds, and acts like everyone else.

What it needs is a shake-up, a few brave souls who say, “we don’t need to do it like that.”

Because with just a bit of time, thought, and the right guidance, you can create something phenomenal.

You can make:

  • A beer with a story that people actually talk about.

  • Packaging that communicates that story and stands out on any shelf.

  • A brewery identity that captures who you are and why you exist.

You can even build a brand that blends your personal passions beyond brewing — something that drives you harder and connects deeper with your drinkers.

But you have to think about it.
You have to give it time.
And you have to stop settling for the easy, safe, same-old option.

So here’s my war cry to you Subscriber First Name
If you’re starting a brewery, if you’re repositioning your brewery, or if you just know deep down that your brand could do better…

Stop doing what everyone else does.
Challenge it.
Change it.
And build something brilliant.

There’s so much more you can do.

And trust me, when you do it, the magic happens.
