Want your beer to fly off the fridge shelf?

Most breweries send beer…duh!!!
Smart ones send beer and a little something extra.

When you’re shipping your glorious cans or bottles off to a bottle shop, taproom or venue fridge, the first thing on your mind is probably:

“How do we stand out on the shelf?”

And yeah, that’s a great question. Your label needs to pop. It needs to turn heads. But that’s not the only thing that gets your beer picked.

Here’s what most breweries forget…

I’ve spoken to loads of bottle shop owners. And the ones that really love working with breweries? They all mention the same thing:

It’s the little extras.

They get a 12-pack or 24-pack, and it’s not just the beer that shows up. It’s the promotional magic that comes with it. Stuff like:

  • A poster with the shop’s name on it (easy and cheap if you’ve got a template)

  • A handful of beer mats

  • Some stickers

  • A pack of funky balloons with your brewery logo

  • Little shelf danglers that grab attention as shoppers walk by

  • A tablecloth, a bar runner, anything that helps them decorate the place

All dead simple. All dead effective.

Why? Because before someone’s even clocked your beer in the fridge, they’ve already seen it five times. On the wall. On the table. In the loo. On the till.

You’re priming them, warming them up so when they hit the fridge, they’re already looking for your logo.

And it’s not just about the drinkers.
It’s about the buyer too.

If you’re the only brewery who’s got posters on the wall and shelf boppers flapping about, guess who they’re going to remember?
You. Every time.

So next time you’re sending out a case of beer, chuck in a few little extras.
They don’t cost much. But they help you get noticed before your beer even hits the glass.

Cheers, Tim
