Stop Posting the Same Boring Beer Pic
Heads up , I’m about to activate ‘rant mode’!!
Normally, there are three types of content when it comes to social media strategy.
But in the brewery world?
There’s a fourth.
And it really grinds my gears.
Let’s break it down:
1. Educational content
The “did you know” stuff.
This is gold.
Think:
→ How we brew our hazy pale
→ What makes our stout so roasty
→ What food actually does go with a saison
Give your drinkers something they can steal and repeat in the pub later so they sound like Benny Big Bollocks.
That’s value.
That’s sticky.
That gets remembered.
2. Entertaining content
It’s the bloopers.
The fumbles.
The party vibes.
The head brewer dropping a sack of grain and pretending it didn’t hurt.
This is your chance to show some character.
You’ve got it in spades, so let it show.
But one warning:
🚫 Don’t just jump on TikTok trends for the sake of it.
Go viral for being you.
For being funny your way.
For being the friendly, welcoming brewery everyone wants to know about.
3. User-generated content (UGC)
This is other people doing the hard work for you.
→ Reviews
→ Tags
→ Testimonials
→ Podcasts and blogs
→ Polls and debates
People trust other people.
So show them what other people are saying about you.
And let the good words spread further.
4. And then there’s… the dull.
The death of brewery content.
That same old photo of a pint and a caption like:
“Pizza van on Friday, see you then.”
Now look…
I’ll take that over radio silence.
But let’s be honest, it’s the bare minimum.
What are you really saying here?
→ That you serve beer?
→ That you’ve got a food truck turning up?
Great. So does everyone else.
Where’s the story?
Where’s the personality?
Where’s the reason I should actually give a damn and tell my friends?
It’s time to stop the rinse wash repeat method, becuase its dull as dish water!!!
If you pull from the first three categories, you can build a killer content mix…
One that actually grows your brewery’s visibility, reach, and brand.
It just takes a little planning.
And a little courage to stop playing it safe.
